Theatre in Egypt has had a long and rich tradition but with streaming and financial viability it seemed to be on the way out. That may be the case with the established theatre but, says Bahira Amin, a‘new generation is determined to compete against streaming services and financial insecurity to carve out enclaves of creativity’.
